heavy weather soon

The weatherfolks at NOAA are saying there's a big storm coming in tonight. High wind warning, high surf advisory, coastal flood watch all in the queue.

A VIGOROUS WINTER STORM APPROACHING THE WEST COAST WILL BRING STRONG GUSTY WINDS TO MOST OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL CALIFORNIA BEGINNING LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUING INTO WEDNESDAY. SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE AHEAD OF THE STORM SYSTEM BEFORE DAWN WITH SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF 20 TO 40 MPH. GUSTS OF 50 TO 60 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE.

RESIDENTS ARE ADVISED TO TAKE MEASURES TO BE READY FOR THESE STRONG GUSTY WINDS. SECURE ANY LOOSE OBJECTS AND BE PREPARED FOR POSSIBLE POWER OUTAGES AND DOWNED TREES.

A VERY POWERFUL PACIFIC STORM WILL GENERATE THE LARGEST WAVES RECORDED SO FAR THIS WINTER ALONG THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL CALIFORNIA COAST...AND PERHAPS THE LARGEST IN THE LAST 10 YEARS...COMBINED SEAS WILL BEGIN BUILDING TO AROUND 15 FEET...REACHING NEAR 20 FEET BY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND THEN PEAKING BETWEEN 25 AND 40 FEET WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY ON THE OCEAN.

Looks like tomorrow will be a good day to go down to the ocean, assuming we can get there. If the power goes out, well, fredshouse will be back when we can.
