As I mentioned in my initial "hello world" blog post (http://gumption.typepad.com/blog/2004/02/hello_world.html), reading your encouragement of other prospective bloggers was a factor in my joining the blogosphere. Interestingly, a post by Scott Lederer regarding "gumption" was another factor.
